These are the terms for using eververse.org and the Blessing Circle. They are short because the important parts are simple. By using EverVerse you agree to them.
EverVerse is a place for prayer, scripture and reflection. You can read a verse, make a card, and — in the Blessing Circle — write to a volunteer guide from your own tradition or another, who reads what you wrote and sends back a verse and a few words of their own.
Guides are volunteers, not clinicians or clergy acting in an official capacity. Nothing on EverVerse diagnoses, treats or cures any condition. If you are unwell, please also speak to a doctor. If you are in danger, or thinking of harming yourself, do not wait for a reply — contact your local emergency number or crisis line now. The page you write on shows the line for your country.

Adults only — 18 or over. You confirm this before you send a request. If your words suggest you may be younger, we stop and show you a helpline for young people instead of sending your request to a guide. This is not a judgement; it is that a stranger writing privately to a child is exactly what the Circle must never be, and we would rather refuse a few adults than allow that once.
If you are under 18 and need someone to talk to, the helplines shown on the request page are for you, and they are better than we are.
Guides must be adults, must confirm their identity with a document and a live selfie, and must agree to the guide rules shown when they apply. A new guide answers only celebrations — a new baby, a wedding, a recovery — until a person has read their first replies. We can decline, pause or remove a guide at any time, without giving a reason, and we will if we think someone asking might be at risk. Read exactly what we check.

We may remove anything that breaks these, refuse anyone who breaks them, and — when we believe someone is in danger — contact the emergency services with what we hold.
What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the guide it is matched to, and to the people who run EverVerse when something is reported or being reviewed. We do not publish it, use it to train anything, or share it for anyone else's purposes. It is erased after 60 days, or sooner if you delete it. The privacy policy says exactly what is kept and who sees it.
A guide's reply is written for one person. Sharing a verse from it, or the card you make from it, is what it is for. Publishing a guide's reply with their name, or a request that is not your own, is not.
The verses are from public-domain and openly-licensed translations. The cards, the site and its words are ours; make and share cards freely for personal, non-commercial use.
EverVerse is free. If you choose to give, the whole amount goes to the partner charity named beside the gift — EverVerse takes nothing from it. A gift is not a payment for a blessing, and a blessing is never conditional on one. Payments are handled by the processor named at the point of giving, under its own terms.
EverVerse is run by volunteers and provided as it is. We do our best, and we tell you plainly what we check and what we do not. We cannot promise that a reply will come, when it will come, or what it will say; that it will be right for you; or that the site will always be up. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from relying on anything here, and our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live that cannot be taken away.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state EverVerse is run from, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
We will change these terms as EverVerse grows. The date at the top changes when we do, and a material change is announced on the front page before it takes effect. Using EverVerse after that is agreement to the new terms.
