EverVerse is a free, multi-faith place to read a verse, make a card, and — through the Blessing Circle — tell a stranger something private and receive a verse and a few kind words back. This page says, in plain words, what we store, for how long, and who can see it. If anything here is unclear, write to us; we would rather fix the words than hide behind them.
The short version
- You can ask for a blessing without an account, an email address or a name. The secret link you are given is the only key.
- What you write is read by one guide at a time, never the public, and never used to train anything.
- We delete the text of every request after 60 days, and you can delete yours sooner, yourself, from the page your link opens.
- We show no ads and never sell or share your data for anyone else's purposes.
- Almost everything else you do here — favourites, journal, streak, the private ritual — stays on your device and never reaches us.
Asking for a blessing
What is stored
When you send a request we store: the words you wrote (up to 1,200 characters), the tradition and the kind of moment you chose, your language, the date and time, and — if our safety check thought your words suggested you were in danger — a flag and the name of the one guide it was sent to. We also store a scrambled fingerprint of your link's key, so that only you can delete the request later. We do not store your name, email, phone number, account or IP address with a request. There is nothing in it that says who you are unless you put it in the text yourself — so please don't.
Who can see it
- One guide — the guide it was matched to, or, if you sent it to the whole Circle, the guides free to take it. A guide sees only requests in their own queue; the database refuses anything wider.
- You, through your link. Anyone you give the link to can read the replies, so treat it like a letter.
- The people who run EverVerse can see it in the database, as with any service. We look only when something is reported, when the daily counts show something wrong, or when a guide's first replies are being read as part of their probation. We do not browse.
Nobody else. Requests are never listed, searched, published or shown to other askers. A guide's reply is written once and cannot be edited afterwards, by them or by us.
How long
60 days, then the text of the request, every reply and any conversation are erased automatically. What remains is numbers: the tradition, the kind of moment, the language, the dates and how many replies there were, so we can publish honest counts. You can erase it sooner: the page your link opens has a button that deletes what you wrote and every reply immediately. Deletion cannot be undone.
If you report a reply, the report — which reason you chose, the line you wrote, and which reply it was about — is kept, because it is the record of what was raised and what was done. It does not contain your request.
Being a guide
Guides sign in with a Google account, so we hold the email address Google gives us. We store the profile you write (name, traditions, languages, a line about yourself), the date you were approved, and the facts other people record about you: who vouched for you, whether an affiliation was confirmed, whether you are on probation, whether you were reported or suspended. Your replies stay with the request they answer and are deleted with it.
Identity check. Guides confirm who they are with Stripe Identity (a photo of an identity document and a live selfie). Stripe holds those images under its own policy. EverVerse never receives or stores the document or the selfie — only a session id and the date the check passed. If we are ever breached there is no identity document here to lose.
Applying. An application (name, email, traditions, experience, why you want to do this) is kept, so that a person who applies twice is recognised and a decision about them can be explained later. Ask and we will erase it.
A guide's public profile — name, traditions, languages, and the standing facts above — is visible to people asking, so they can choose. Your email address is never shown.
The rest of EverVerse
- On your device only. Favourites, your journal, your streak, settings, the list of blessings you have asked for, and the private ritual on the Let it go page — which makes no network requests at all — are kept in your browser's storage. We cannot see them and they are never uploaded.
- Reactions and comments on verses are public by design and stored in Google Firebase, with whatever name and text you typed. Please keep personal details out of them.
- Translations. Text you choose to translate is sent to MyMemory (translated.net) and comes back translated.
- Read-aloud. Text you ask to hear is sent, through our own relay, to ElevenLabs to make the audio. The relay adds nothing about you.
- Bot check. Pages that write to our database carry Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at browser signals to tell a person from a script. That is all it is used for.
- Technical data. Our hosts — GitHub Pages for the site, Cloudflare for our relays, Google Firebase for the database — see IP addresses and browser types in their ordinary server logs, under their own policies. We count page views with GoatCounter, which sets no cookie and stores no IP address — we see how many people opened a page each day, never who. The count carries the page path only, never anything you typed or the link to your request, and it is not loaded at all if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. There are no tracking cookies and no advertising trackers.

Our database is in Google's United States region. If you are in the EU or UK, your request travels there. We are a small volunteer project and have not yet done the formal work an EU service needs; we say so rather than pretend otherwise, and we will not promote the Circle there until we have.
Children
The verses, cards and rituals are for everyone. The Blessing Circle is for adults: you confirm you are 18 or over before sending, and if your words suggest you may be younger we stop and show you the right helpline instead of sending it to a guide. We do not knowingly keep a request from a child; if you believe we have one, tell us and we will erase it.
Your choices
- Delete your request and every reply, any time, from the page your link opens.
- Clear everything on your device by clearing your browser's site data for eververse.org.
- Ask us to remove a comment you posted, or a guide profile, and we will.
- Use every part of EverVerse without ever asking for a blessing, posting, or signing in.
Because a request carries no name or email, we cannot look one up for you — the link is the only key, for us as well as for you. That is deliberate.
When we would hand something over
Only if the law compels us. We keep as little as we can and for as short a time as we can so that there is little to hand over. We will tell the people concerned if we are allowed to.
Changes
We will update this page as EverVerse grows, and change the date at the top. A material change will be announced on the front page before it takes effect.
